Welcome to the cruising blog of Wayne and Michele Sharp!

If you want to learn a little bit about cruising, satisfy your curiosity, live vicariously, or be entertained, I think you've come to the right place.

Feel free to ask questions or post comments in the comment section of each post; I will respond to all of them. You can also email us at reluctantsailor@me.com.

We've written a book based on the blog from our first journey in 2007 - Adventures of a Once Reluctant Sailor: A Journey of Guts, Growth, and Grace. It is available online from my website at reluctantsailor.net, and from Apostle Islands Booksellers, Copperfish Books, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble. Your local bookstore can also order it for you. We've included over 170 color and black and white photos.

Photos

If you go back and look at the posts from the past few days, you'll see that I was finally able to add some photos. They give you an idea of the variety of scenery on the ICW and were all taken this week, but not necessarily on the day of the post you see them on.
Of course, I just had to take a photo of this boat as it passed us:

  1. Hi - sounds like your handling alot of difficult challenges. Getting a pedicure must have made you feel human again-should have grabbed a massage with that:) Very fun to read of your travels-I was born in Norfolk when my dad was in the service. Our kids are talking thanksgiving and Jim and I are going to tulsa to see his sister this year and they don't know if the bible study group can make it without them one year. We told Bill he could head up the kids and go--so don't know what will happen because its sooo become tradition for them. Keep safe and we'll keep praying. pj and jim
