Welcome to the cruising blog of Wayne and Michele Sharp!

If you want to learn a little bit about cruising, satisfy your curiosity, live vicariously, or be entertained, I think you've come to the right place.

Feel free to ask questions or post comments in the comment section of each post; I will respond to all of them. You can also email us at reluctantsailor@me.com.

We've written a book based on the blog from our first journey in 2007 - Adventures of a Once Reluctant Sailor: A Journey of Guts, Growth, and Grace. It is available online from my website at reluctantsailor.net, and from Apostle Islands Booksellers, Copperfish Books, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble. Your local bookstore can also order it for you. We've included over 170 color and black and white photos.

Ahoy!

Welcome to our blog, where Wayne and I will chronicle our sailing trip from Bayfield, Wisconsin to Punta Gorda, Florida on board Lena Bea, a 2006 Island Packet 445. We bought her last November and Wayne has worked feverishly for months to prepare her for our journey.

Our approximately 5000 mile route will take us through the Great Lakes, Montreal, Quebec, the St. Lawrence Seaway, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, across to Maine and down the east coast via the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and around the Florida Keys north to Punta Gorda, where she will reside at the dock behind our home.
Our plan for this blog is to share the trip with friends and family back home.

Once we figure out how to do it, we should be able to show you exactly where we are (latitude and longitude) on a regular basis. Of course, you can expect to see lots of photos of places we visit en route, so check back often.
